Reliable organic supplier: Ukrainian National Pavilion as a good tradition of BioFach

Ukrainian National Pavilion unites people who are interested in the development of the organic sector in Ukraine and promoting Ukrainian products to international markets.

Ukraine is a reliable organic supplier – it is convinced by participants of a dialogue within the last year BioFach Forum, which brought together about 100 representatives of organic business, operators, certification bodies, traders, consultants and representatives of the European Commission.

"In general, participation of Ukraine at the BioFaсh can be called as one of the most successful projects in the agricultural sector, despite the fact that this is initiative of the organic sector. And it is implemented by sector with the financial support of international projects and, in fact, without government support," - says Kateryna Shor Project Manager of Information Center "Green Dossier".

“We see that interest to participate at the BioFach growing every year. Since 2006 when the first Ukrainian company took part at the Fair, the number of exhibiting companies will increase up to 20 in 2017, seventeen of which will be presented at the Ukrainian National Pavilion” - says Ksenia Gladchenko head of QueS Organic Consultancy Body.

Ukrainian exhibitors held more than 500 business meetings with potential buyers in 2016 over 4 days of the Fair in the frame of Ukrainian National Pavilion. As a result, EUR 3,5 mln. value of contracts signed during BioFach.

“The geography of our exhibitors also expands this year, will be presented 12 out of 25 regions of Ukraine. This dynamic shows not only interest of the companies in entering new markets, but generally positive trends of the organic market development in Ukraine. This is evidenced also by the number of BioFach visitors, which has increased in 10 times compared with 2006. The new operators coming into the market, looking for not only future partners at the Fair, but also new ideas to grow their business” - informs Sergiy Galashevskyy General Manager of Organic Standard Certification Body.

Fifteen companies will present Ukraine at the BioFach 2017 and offer a range of organic products, including cereals, oil crops, pulses, groats/flakes, wild/cultivated berries, seed oils and seeds. This range of products provided excellent pre-conditions for a further growth of organic production in Ukraine. In addition two companies will presents their professional services in organic sector – internationally accredited and recognised certification body Organic Standard and professional organic cargo handling&delivery company Unimar Logistic.

Twelve companies will be presented with their own stands at the Ukrainian pavilion and five - at the reception.

The Second Forum will be organised in the frame of BioFach 2017 as well.

Ukrainian National Pavilion will be presented at the BioFach for the Fourth time in Hall 5, booth 5-255.

The Ukrainian National Pavilion is organized by the Consortium of three Ukrainian key organic stakeholders: QueS Organic Consultancy Body, Organic Standard Certification Body and Environmental NGO Information Center “Green Dossier".

Since 2014 the Ukrainian Pavilion has been supported by the Swiss-Ukrainian cooperation project “Organic Market Development in Ukraine”, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat of Economic Affairs SECO and implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL (www.ukraine.fibl.org). This year, the pavilion is also co-funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) through the two German-Ukrainian cooperation projects “Advice to Ukraine on agricultural trade issues under the deep and comprehensive Free-Trade Agreement (DCFTA) between the EU and Ukraine” and “German-Ukrainian co-operation in the field of organic agriculture”, both implemented by AFC/IAK (www.afci.de / www.iakleipzig.de).
